Construido con un diseño y materiales de concha aeroespacial, Troy Lee pudo obtener el casco compuesto D4 a 1050 gramos sin sacrificar ninguna resistencia. MIPS (sistema de protección de impacto multidireccional) se usa para agregar una capa adicional de seguridad en caso de caída. Para la comodidad, las rutas de D4 COMC se enfrían el aire a través de un sistema de entrada de aire delantero que fluye a través del centro de polímero y la malla lateral de la red eléctrica, manteniendo la cabeza más fresca durante el viaje. El acolchado antimicrobiano/anti-oodor X-static y XT2 mantiene el interior del casco es un lugar mucho más agradable para estar.
