Frequently Asked Questions About Kinder BMX Räder
The best way to get the right size BMX for a child is their height, rather than their age.
A 12" BMX bike is perfect for kids who are 2-3ft / 60-90cm tall. A 14" BMX bike is suitable between or 2'8" to 3'4", moving to a 16" BMX bike from 3ft to 3'8" tall while kids who are between 3'6" and 4'6" will be ready for an 18" BMX. After that, they'll be ready to take on a standard 20" BMX bike.
A standard 20" BMX bike is suitable for anyone over 4ft, but there are a range of top tube lengths to get the right bike for their height.
For children who are between 4ft and 5'4" tall you should choose a 20" BMX bike with a top tube that is 18"-20¼" long. For riders who are 5ft to 5'8" tall, choose a 20"-20½" tube, then a 20¼"-21" tube for riders up to 6ft. Riders over +6ft will be better suited to a large/XL tube of at least 20¾".
