Der Troy Lee D4 -Kohlenstoffhelm hat unter Verwendung von Textreme Spread Carbonfaserverstärkung in der Hülle dazu beigetragen, das Gewicht des vollen Gesichtshelms um fast 50 Gramm zu verringern, ohne die Festigkeit zu beeinträchtigen. Trotz des Gewichtsverlusts war Troy Lee in der Lage, EPS (erweiterter Polystyrol) strategisch hinzuzufügen, um die Festigkeit und Haltbarkeit zu erhöhen.
Das integrierte MIPS-Hirnschutzsystem (Multidirektional Impact Protection System), das zur Reduzierung der in das Gehirn übertragenen Drehbewegungen von abgewinkelten Auswirkungen auf den Kopf reduziert wurde.
Das D4-Paket ist mit leichten Titan-D-Ringen, Titan-Titan-Ringen, einem Colarbone-Suspensionssystem und dem Schnellfreisetzer XT2 3D-Wangenpads und X-statischen Waschanlagen abgerundet.
