Usando i rinforzi di fibra di carbonio di traino a traino di textreme nel guscio, il casco di carbonio Troy Lee D4 ha contribuito a ridurre il peso del casco a pieno viso di quasi 50 grammi senza sacrificare la resistenza. Nonostante la perdita di peso, Troy Lee è stato in grado di aggiungere strategicamente EPS (polistirene ampliato) per aumentare la resistenza e la durata.
Il sistema di protezione cerebrale MIPS integrato (sistema di protezione a impatto multidirezionale) progettato per ridurre il movimento rotazionale trasferito al cervello dagli impatti angolati alla testa.
Il pacchetto D4 è completato con anelli D in titanio leggero, sistema di sospensioni della clavicola e pad di guancia 3D XT2 a rilascio rapido e fodera lavabile X-statica.
